In addition to a competitive salary ranging from $91,700 - $104,500 per annum (FTE) plus superannuation, the successful candidate will enjoy the opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of children, young people and their families. How You’ll Make a Difference
- Developing a communications/marketing and engagement strategy that is effective in reaching and engaging young people from a wide range of backgrounds, as well as other government and community services, schools and centres.
- Creatively promoting the service through community events, forums, through social media and other platforms, and other health promotion events and initiatives.
- Team up with other regional community engagement officers to coordinate local service responses and pathways for people to easily access and navigate their local AOD services.
- Raise awareness and engagement that promotes access to AOD programs, and reduces stigma and discrimination

What You’ll Bring to the Team
The successful candidate will have strong networks in the local communities and excellent communication skills, particularly an ability to engage and hear the voice of vulnerable young people. You will have a solid understanding of community engagement, barriers for people to access AOD services and in particular Karralika’s services, work within AOD harm reduction principles and strategies, and a creative flair to reach and engage with young people. Most of all, you will have a great attitude, values alignment and aptitude for working with others in creative ways that can really make a difference.
You will have:

Diploma or higher qualification in a relevant field (e.g. AOD, Community Services, Community Development, Health Promotion)

Experience developing and implementing community-based activities, communications and marketing, and networking

Experience working with young people and AOD or other relevant sector

Current Working With Children’s Check and Driver's License
