Karralika Programs Inc has been supporting communities throughout the ACT and NSW for 45 years, providing quality support and intervention services for families and individuals impacted by alcohol, tobacco and other drugs.
We employ a multidimensional approach to recovery, supporting our clients to learn about themselves behaviourally, cognitively, and emotionally to achieve and sustain positive outcomes for life.
We have a team of counsellors across the organisation’s various programs who work with adults, couples, young people, children and families.
This full-time position works as part of a multidisciplinary team supporting our adult and family therapeutic communities (residential rehabilitation programs) in Canberra. The counsellor provides individual brief interventions and counselling, facilitates and co-facilitates groups, and provides interventions to adults / couples, children and families depending on qualifications and experience.

How You’ll Make a Difference
Karralika Programs is looking for an experienced Counsellor to join our Team in Canberra to support to the Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Adult and Family Therapeutic Community and the team.

Programs has fulltime and parttime positions available for experienced Counsellors to join our Community Services team in Canberra, Queanbeyan, Wagga and Griffith to provide support to the Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Day Program participants and the team. The Day program provides an evidence-based early recovery and relapse prevention group program.

What You’ll Bring to the Team
You will have experience as a Counsellor in the AOD or other relevant sector, have a Diploma in Counselling, or higher, and hold/be eligible for registration with PACFA, ACA, AHPRA or AASW - Mental Health endorsed.
- Current National Police Check
- Current Working with Vulnerable People Registration (ACT)
- Current unrestricted Driver’s Licence
