About the Role:
The case manager justice services is part of a team supporting detainees within the Canberra prison, the Alexander Maconochie Centre (AMC). The position works within a multi-disciplinary team with staff from both Karralika Programs and ACT Corrections to provide one on one AOD case management and facilitation of group programs with detainees recovering from problematic alcohol and other drug use. Aftercare support is also an essential component of the Justice Services programs, and the successful candidate/s may be required to work with those recently released from custody to support reintegration into the community.
Requirements of the Role:
- Certificate IV Alcohol and Other Drugs (minimum or working towards)
- Case management experience working within the AOD or another relevant sector
- Competent in the use of information technology systems
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Understanding of and experience in working with quality improvement systems in the AOD/community services environment
- Ability to use a range of application software packages, including Microsoft 365.
- Successfully complete the AMC police and intelligence checks and AMC Security Awareness training
- Working With Vulnerable People Clearance
- Criminal History Check
- Current Driver’s Licence
Desirable
- Diploma Alcohol and Other Drugs (Community Services / Mental Health)
- Experience working in custodial setting or with forensic cohort
